Issue #18: 2024 Has Entered the Chat 💬
A PDF for Goal Setting, Vintage Finds, and An Interview That'll Inspire.
For as long as I can remember, goal setting, dream casting, whatever you’d like to call it, has been something I feel invigorated by. Reverse engineering desired outcomes has been a skill I feel inherently connected to (I credit this largely to being open to intuitive pulls) and also a muscle I’ve worked to flex over the years.
When my husband and I started working together to set goals as a family unit and desired to help propel our individual dreams forward in tandem, I designed the State of the Union PDF.
The State of the Union was designed as a family exercise my husband and I did together, yes. But much of the contents within? I did long before we ever met. This PDF can be done as a one-day self-led retreat, during a connective weekend with your partner, or mix + match if you’d like to keep some things separate. This is about whatever works for you!
Within, you’ll find dedicated sections for Career, Physical Health, Relationships, Mental Wellbeing, Travel, and more. This isn't just a planner; it's your personal guide to intentional living.
Ready to design a 2024 and beyond that lights you up? Purchase the PDF or learn more, here.
Have questions or financial restrictions? Please feel free to reply directly to this email. I truly designed this wanting the best for each of us + the thought of playing a small role in your dreams coming to life lights me up. 🥲
To everything you want with joyful surprises mixed in,
Kayli

The holidays might be behind us, but winter isn’t! While listening to my Elvis record, I swayed and hummed while baking this truly divine gingerbread cake and even whipped up some fresh whipped cream to go on top. My husband even devoured it + he doesn’t love anything sweet (absolutely cannot relate).
P.S. It’s one of the easiest baked goods I’ve made, and you likely have most of the ingredients on hand!
As I’ve divulged before, I gain so much inspiration from movies I watch, especially when it comes to home decor, baubles, and trinkets. This time around, I was on my parents' couch, cuddled up with my mom, watching Stealing Home, when I spotted a gorgeous crystal ashtray inside a brass insert.
I became hyper-fixated on it. No, I don’t smoke — Well, okay. Occasionally, I love a joint, but that’s not happening inside my New York City apartment — but I quickly began imagining it on my entryway credenza filled with matchbooks, lying on a stack of books holding my palo santo, or perhaps I could even use it as large candle holder...
Thus began my search.
You can imagine my excitement when I came across the exact one from the movie. The best part? It was a biddable item on Etsy, and I scored it for $9! I’ll treasure it and the memory it brings me of that holiday at home forever.
Love it, too?
I can’t get enough of these…
I admit that if I didn’t love the memory of watching the movie so much + didn’t desire that exact one, I would have been all over this ashtray with a gold stand. Chic!
Okay, $12, and it’s deep enough for plenty of goodies?? Sold! I’m imagining it filled with little candies for when guests stop by.
This find has gorgeous ornate roses adorned all around the tray and has been on my mind since the moment I found it… do I need another?
A Hollywood Regency Gold Gilded option from the 1950s? It’s love. I can’t help but imagine this on a dresser top filled with costume jewelry.
Last but not least, this glass Czech ashtray can easily steal the show. Added atop a midcentury modern credenza or placed upon a nightstand to hold your mini lotions + potions? *chef’s kiss*
Last minute note: This weekend, I also used my ashtray as a coaster for a bottle of bubbly. The possibilities are truly endless! What happens when you buy with intention. ;)
I recently turned on this Variety Actors on Actors interview with Viola Davis and Jennifer Lawrence, and as one commenter so succinctly said, “Every time Ms. Davis talks, it’s a Master class,” and I concur.
This robust conversation felt powerful, healing, and incredibly vulnerable. Both actresses dive into what it means to be a woman in Hollywood, society’s beauty standards, and the way the media often curates an unfair image. Still, Davis truly feels “on the roof” for my Human Design fans, which is to say fully in her Crone era. I recommend we all sit down and take the time to hear what she has to say on womanhood and her craft, and possibly take notes. What a presence.
I’m hosting a girls’ night next week ahead of Valentine’s Day + am so excited to celebrate a newfound group of NYC friends. We’re going to make cards for the special people in our lives, sip cocktails, and, of course, have romcoms playing in the background. The attire? As cozy as can be!
I’m thinking I’ll have this non-alcoholic Martini & Rossi mixed with sparkling water to sip for a lil’ NA spritz moment, a strawberry cake with a homemade vanilla frosting (this one looks delish!), a few apps, and some sort of batch cocktail.
Below are either some things I bought for my girls’ night festivities or items I think would be so cute for yours!
1. This heart banner from Target is $3 and would look so cute hung on your kitchen counter with the lite bites!
2. These small heart-shaped bowls are perfect for sauces. I plan on using them for small candies!
3. This see-through table runner is so fun + the price is right!
4. I can think of one million uses for these ribbons. Tied to wine glasses, as a hair accessory, or (in my case) on homemade cards.
5. Sprinkles! For the cake, cookies, etc.
6. I’ve played this game now a couple of times, and it always leads to laughs!
7. Another Target find. I plan on using these festive bags for taxi-ride-home munchies.
8. These pajamas are so fun and I’d truly wear them all of the time.
9. These stickers take me back to the ones I always loved growing up!
10. A goal I had this year was to make more homemade cards, and I think these doilies in various colors will come in handy!
Can’t wait to download my State of the Union!
