The time has come for us all to set one thing straight:
Tom Selleck, the hunky mustached king we know from Three Men and a Baby, or perhaps more likely, Magnum P.I. or as Monica’s boyfriend on Friends, is a style icon.
I remember appreciating his short shorts with scrunched athletic socks while pushing a stroller in Three Men, and seeing him pop up on social media over the years I’ve continued to marvel at the understated *looks* he sports whether on-set or walking down a crowded sidewalk in NYC.
His ensembles always seem to convey two things:
Simplicity - My guy Tom is a down-to-earth lad (we share Midwestern roots) + I love that.
&
Confidence - He always seems confident with his shoulders back and coy smile on. An attribute I also try to grab by the horns when wearing a midriff-bearing top or an unorthodox color.
Over my years of admiring his flair, I’ve noticed another key element oft attached to his signature looks. An undeniable fondness for an accouterment — a cowboy hat, a chunky watch, a quirky bowtie.
As someone who loves to add an element of pizazz to her own outfits, I like to think we’re kindred spirits who would be Close Personal Friends who shop together + then dine at Polo Bar, where he inevitably has a connect, if we ever were introduced.
~Writers Note: To please introduce me to Mr. Selleck if you’re his niece or something.~
Why pen this today after admiring his fashion for years? Because Fall is around the corner, friends, and Selleck Style™️ is so in.
With 80s movies playing in the background,
Kayli

you’re staring into your closet wondering, “WWTSD?”
Remember:
✨ Simplicity is key, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring! Pair your favorite vintage blouse with your Madewell jeans, throw on a chunky belt with a white tee, and when your flowy dress needs a lil’ something something, don’t be afraid to throw on a cowboy hat. Yee haw!
✨ The modus operandi is confidence! Wear it like Magnum’s badge.
✨ When overwhelmed, turn to the classics. A button down, lived in denim, a pair of broken in loafers, you know what I’m talking about.
✨ Cozy can mean polished. I’m one to sit in bed lounging in the nude with unruly hair like the rest of us, but reading on a weekend morning wearing a long sleeve top and comfy socks does sound oh-so-chic.
✨ You can usually mix and match blues, greens, creams, greys, and reds depending on the tone. Don’t be afraid to mix and match.
And one last inspo pic for the road:
See you next week for an issue for all of the folks who feel that back to school energy no matter how long they’ve had their diploma. 👋🏼
